New York City FC interested in Nicolás Acevedo - Transfer almost done

According to a report by Sport 890, New York City FC are interested in Nicolás Acevedo. The defensive midfielder currently plays for Uruguayan side Liverpool FC Montevideo.

Sport 890 reporter Andrés Cancellara says that the deal is almost complete and Acevedo will travel to the US to officially join the club.

Nicolás Acevedo signed his first professional contract with Liverpool FC Montevideo in July 2018. The 20-year-old was named captain of his team for the 2019 season. He made 36 appearances, recording two assists.

Acevedo made five appearances (two starts) with the Uruguayan U-23 national team during the 2020 Conmebol Pre-Olympic Tournament. He also played 17 games with Uruguays U-20 national team, scoring two goals.
