Active as a manager for 44 years: Hodgson signs new Crystal Palace deal
Roy Hodgson ranks among the oldest managers in the world of professional football and will remain at Crystal Palace for at least another season. The 72-year-old, who already started his career as a coach in Sweden in 1976, extended his expiring contract for a further year until 2021.
The Londoners tried to convince him and stated their interest in extending the deal with the former Liverpool and England manager publicly again and again. Hodgson said: “I am proud of what we have achieved since I was appointed two and a half years ago and I look forward to us working together for the foreseeable future.”
