The Premier League is one of the most admired and sought after divisions in world football. Also, arguably the best. Players flock from every corner of the world to try and make it in the English top-flight. It has meant in the past that most English players haven't had to travel far to play for a top quality team, and have often preferred to have the creature comforts of playing in the country they represent internationally. During the Three Lions so called 'golden generation' all of the stars (perhaps excluding David Beckham) spent the bulk of their prime career playing in the Premier League. At the 2010 World Cup, every player in England's squad played in the Premier League. The only other nations who could say the same, in that their entire squad played in their own domestic league, were Italy and Germany.

Nowadays things are different. Some of England's top talents have been lured to foreign shores. Jude Bellingham, the world's most valuable player at €180m has spent the last four seasons outside of the British isles, representing Borussia Dortmund and now Real Madrid. Harry Kane traded Tottenham for Bayern Munich, and many other Englishmen are following suit. England are surely set to reap the benefits of having players working their trade in culturally different leagues. Below we take a look at the most valuable players currently playing their football outside of the riches of the Premier League, including those down in the Championship.

The most valuable players playing outside of the Premier League

The most valuable player is unsurprisingly Bellingham. The €180m valued midfielder has been a revelation since going to the Bernabeu last summer, scoring 18 goals and providing six assists in 25 La Liga and Champions League games for 'los Blancos'. Second place goes to Bayern Munich's €110m goal machine Kane, who is the leading scorer across Europe's top five leagues this season with 24 goals in 20 Bundesliga games. AC Milan centre-half Fikayo Tomori comes in third with a market value of €40m, and he is followed by another English talent in Serie A. Roma striker Tammy Abraham (MV: €35m) takes fourth place.

In fifth place, is the first player on the list who plays in England but not in the Premier League. The Championship league leaders Leicester's midfielder Kiernan Dewbsury-Hall has a market value of €30m. He is followed by Borussia Dortmund's Jamie Bynoe-Gittens and Sporting's Marcus Edwards with both players valued at €28m. Up next it's Dortmund's Jadon Sancho (MV: €25m), who is looking o revive his career on loan from Manchester United. In ninth it's AC Milan's Ruben Loftus-Cheek (MV: €25m), who has five league goals for the Italian giants this term, and completing the top 10 is Southampton defender Taylor Harwood-Bellis, who is valued at €22m and on loan from treble winners Manchester City.
