Bellingham on top - The most valuable player for each team left in the Champions League
After two months without Europe's top club competition, the Champions League is back. The round of 16 gets underway this Tuesday, and there are some tasty knockout games around the corner. Last year's champions Manchester City travel to FC Copenhagen to get us underway on Tuesday alongside 14-time winners Real Madrid, who face a trip to East Germany to play RB Leipzig.
In the group stages (the last group stages ever before the new league format comes in next season) Real Madrid and Man City were the only teams to win all six of their fixtures. Four other teams remain unbeaten so far in this season's Champions League. They are Bayern Munich, Inter Milan, Real Sociedad, and Atletico Madrid. The 12 most valuable players in the world football all still have a chance of winning the Champions League this campaign; the most valuable player not in the Champions League still is Bayer Leverkusen's Florian Wirtz. But who is the most valuable player for each of the remaining 16 teams in the tournament?
Three teams left in the competition have one of the trio of the joint most valuable players in the world in their ranks. Real Madrid's Jude Belllingham (20) comes in first place because he is younger than both Man City's Erling Haaland (23) and PSG's Kylian Mbappé (25) - with all three players having a market value of €180m. Arsenal's most valuable player is Bukayo Saka (MV: €120m) whilst Bayern Munich's is Jamal Musiala (€110m). The other two teams with a €100m+ player are Inter Milan with Lautaro Martínez and Napoli with Victor Osimhen.
The most valuable players left in the Champions League
At the other end of the scale, FC Copenhagen's most valuable player is goalkeeper Kamil Grabara with a market value of just €11m. The Danish clubs entire squad value of €84.6m is less than half the value of their round of 16 opponents striker alone in Man City's Haaland (€180m). Lazio are the second lowest when it comes to their most valuable player with Mattia Zaccagni valued at €25m.
